We are pleased to offer our exceptional legal services for the Super Visa program, designed specifically for parents or grandparents of permanent residents or Canadian citizens.

At Bhoj Law Office, we are pleased to offer experienced legal guidance for the Super Visa program, designed specifically for the parents and grandparents of Canadian citizens and permanent residents. If you want to bring your family to Canada for extended visits, our team is here to help you navigate every step of the application with confidence.

What Is the Super Visa?

The Super Visa grants multiple-entry temporary resident status for a remarkable duration of up to 10 years. During each entry, parents or grandparents can enjoy an extended stay of up to 5 years in Canada. It is important to note that dependents, such as sons or daughters, are not eligible for the Super Visa.

Who It Is For

The Super Visa is intended for the parents or grandparents of a child or grandchild who is a Canadian citizen or permanent resident. The host child or grandchild plays an essential role in the application by providing an invitation and demonstrating the financial support needed to welcome their family member to Canada.

Eligibility and Requirements

Proof of Relationship

Applicants must provide proof of their relationship to the child or grandchild who is a Canadian citizen or permanent resident. This includes the child's or grandchild's birth certificate and, if applicable, their baptismal certificate. An official relationship document naming the applicant as the parent or grandparent is also required.

Medical and Admissibility

Applicants must provide proof of an immigration medical examination and evidence of their admissibility to Canada on health grounds.

Insurance Coverage

One crucial requirement is a one-year insurance policy purchased from a Canadian insurance company. The policy must be valid for one year from the entry date and provide a minimum of $100,000 in emergency coverage. It must cover health care, hospitalization, and repatriation expenses for the visiting parent(s) or grandparent(s), and it must be valid for each entry to Canada.

Invitation Letter

An invitation letter written and signed by the host child or grandchild is essential. This letter should promise financial support for the duration of the parent(s) or grandparent(s)' stay in Canada and include a list of all household members, including the visiting parent(s) or grandparent(s). A copy of the Canadian citizenship or permanent resident status of the host child or grandchild must also be included.

Financial Support

To meet the financial support requirement, the host child or grandchild must provide proof of financial support that meets the low-income cut-off (LICO). Required documents include the Notice of Assessment (NOA) for the most recent tax year, T4 or T1 for the most recent tax year, pay stubs, and an original letter from the employer stating the job title, job description, and salary. For a self-employed child or grandchild, a letter from an accountant confirming their annual income may be required. Other sources of income, such as pension statements or investments, should also be provided if applicable.
